About audhdtest.net

About the free online AuDHD test for adults

We built audhdtest.net because the adults most likely to benefit from an AuDHD self-assessment are the ones least likely to afford or access one. Our mission is to keep the free online AuDHD test genuinely free, science-informed, and friendly enough that the experience itself feels like progress.

What is AuDHD, and why a dedicated test?

AuDHD is the informal name for the overlap of autism and ADHD in the same person — a combination research suggests affects the majority of autistic adults. Standard single-condition screeners are built to spot one neurotype at a time, which is exactly how the second one gets missed. A dedicated AuDHD test looks at how the two interact, so the profile is harder to overlook.

Our story — building a free online AuDHD self-assessment

The project started in 2024 after one of our writers waited 18 months for a public adult ADHD assessment, only to be told her autism traits were “probably masking everything else.” We wanted a tool that took the AuDHD overlap seriously from the very first question.

How the AuDHD test is built (ASRS-v1.1 + AQ-10)

Our item bank draws on themes covered by the AQ-10, ASRS-v1.1, published research, and accounts from late-identified AuDHD adults. Items are rewritten in plain language for educational self-reflection. This website does not claim that its custom overlap questions are clinically validated or equivalent to a diagnostic assessment.

Who the free AuDHD test is for

The test is written for adults aged 16 and up. It is especially useful for late-identified women, non-binary people, and high-masking adults whose traits slip past traditional screeners, as well as anyone already diagnosed with autism or ADHD who suspects a second neurotype is in the mix.

Editorial and evidence standards

Every page is checked for plain language, appropriate uncertainty, working source links, and a clear distinction between screening and diagnosis. We review health content on a six-month schedule and update it sooner when major guidance changes. The editorial team does not replace individual medical care.

What we won't do

We will never sell your responses, ask you to pay for a “premium” AuDHD test result, or pretend a screener is a diagnosis. If we ever change that, we'll tell you on this page first.
